the Phantom of the Opera is packing his bags and hitching a ride to Las
Vegas. Of course he just happens to be enjoying the Venetian Las Vegas Casino as
a host, and quite the gracious one given the newly constructed state of the art
theatre that he will get to hole up in, not to mention a forty-million dollar
Las Vegas "Spectacular" version of the ever popular musical bearing the brooding
disfigured gent's namesake.
Las Vegas Casinos are more keyed into finding what will be the next gold mine
when it come to flashy entertainment on the strip, even more so with Las Vegas
casinos becoming more and more of an unlikely family vacation destination.
Families are needing more places to go as a whole family that don't involve
wearing swim trunks and won't strip the young ones of their innocence or bore
the crap out of the parents. And Las Vegas casinos are realizing that their is
huge amounts of money to be made in their special brand of ninety minute flash.
And for this production their is no expense being spared on the flash, with
over seventy-five million dollars being spent on recreating the famous Parisian
opera house, the mammoth and terrifying chandelier and even more "spectacular"
Las Vegas additions and special effects. the show, despite its shortened Las
Vegas length, still includes every song that is in the original musical plus the
same Broadway caliber performers. Las Vegas Casinos are certainly becoming the
next major theatre and entertainment market with a constant influx of tourist
who can sell out entire performances night after night after night.
