The United States government has continued to tighten its grip on the online
casino industry after a House Judiciary Committee has approved of the Internet
Gambling Prohibition Act which was being pushed by Representative Bob Goodlatte.
The legislation was approved of by a 25 to an 11 vote and now they are preparing
to vote on another online casino inspired bill named the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act.
The most confusing aspect of these attempts to obliterate online casino
activity within the united state s is that the majority of the business for
online casinos is actually all from the united states, so removing it completely
would be an almost impossible chore. Some also feel that a much smarter move
would be to go the route of Great Britain and allow online casinos but regulate
them and allow a portion of the money wagered go toward federal taxes.
These attempts are calling for harsh punishment for those who participate in
online casino activity such as fines and up to two year in prison. Currently
there are organization taking initiative to pursued the House and Senate to
submit a study to see if it could be possible to regulate online casino within
our border and ultimately tax them appropriately. Big American casino companies
like Harrah's and MGM Mirage are already setting their sites on capitalizing on
the online casino platform.
