 eBay Cancels Account Auction

Hype not also going to work in your favor as online casino BetbyInternet just painfully realized when Ebay reneged on the online casino's highly publicized $100,000 account auction. the online auction forum had decided after considerable amounts of publicity that the auction for the BetbyInternet account would be promoting an illegal activity in the country which eBay is based from, the United States.

the online casino, BetbyInternet, had set a mere $49,000 minimum reserve price which is less than fifty percent less than the online casino account's actual value of $100,000. the interesting thing is how actively the promotion was advertised long before the auction, but the eBay legal department did not catch on to the fact until well after the auction had began and did not even email BetbyInternet until two days after the bidding had begun.

“Our guess is that the legal department was at a prolonged holiday party and slept the first few days of the auction.” said Lee Samuels, BetbyInternet's Director of Promotions at. BetbyInternet is not seeing this as the end of the road and is pursuing holding another promotional auction that will be less likely to ruffle the feathers of eBay's legal department. the new auction will now most likely feature an all expense paid gambling trip to Las Vegas. Randal Zuniga BetbyInternet's VP of Operations said, “Gambling is legal only in Vegas, So my guess is that eBay should not have a problem with this type of auction."
