888 Owner Attacked
Aaron Shaked, the
owner of the popular online casino 888, was the object of some rather surprising
violence this past weekend. the successful online casino millionaire (near
billionaire, but who’s counting) had a near miss with a grenade when an
unidentified individual threw a live hand grenade at the online casino big wig’s
house in an exclusive neighborhood Israel’s upper-crust area.
No one was hurt,
but his home did suffer some structural damages such as some blown out windows.
the street itself was literally shaken awake from the powerful blast. This is
not the fist time that this powerful family has been targeted by violence, but
many suspect that this particular bout is more in context pertaining to Aaron’s
recent turn to politics. the online casino millionaire/billionaire has decided
to run for office on the socialist ticket as a member of the Israeli Labor
Party.
the trio of
brothers that has grown extremely successful by running their multiple online
casinos, became pretty high profile as they released the company to go public
with the London Stock Exchange last September and receive an very positive
reaction, with each brother pulling in roughly $90 million and even more in
assets. they huge successful jump to becoming public is also rumored to be why
Aaron got the nerve to make the move into the political arena.
His involvement in
politics is not new however, a member of the Labor
Party since 1981, he was part of a group of
businessmen who
supported the Geneva initiative during the Middle Eastern Crisis. Though oddly,
his slogan of "Proud, Socialist Millionaire!" does not quite express the feel
behind his campaign which is now centered on raising the minimum wage and
helping Israel’s poor working class.
